You can apply a solid colour fill to the entire table that is different from the fill applied to the individual cells. The table’s fill colour is visible only in cells in which the individual fill is set to No Fill.
To apply a fill to the entire table, open the Shading button’s menu and point to Table Background, and then choose a colour.
